2017...A Year In Review

The last 12 months have been a period of change and growth for me at Moon Hill Acupuncture.  I just can't resist the opportunity to highlight some of these changes and the amazing connections I've made this year.
  • I continue to feel more and more at home at Sweet Pea's Studio.  My business feels quite established in this lovely studio, as I now have my own name plate on the front door, have hung my diploma on the wall in my treatment room (which I share with the lovely Dana Sackar of Flourish Physical Therapy), and have added a small shelf for little displays.
  • I've had the opportunity to briefly meet with several business owners in the local area and discuss different ways our services can benefit our clients.  Here are the highlights of these networking lunches throughout the year.
    • Roots Family Chiropractic works with families, including pregnant women and newborns.
    • Susan Lambert-Boyle of Sono LIFE is a DoTerra essential oils distributor and life coach.
    • Lisa Zimmerman of Maternal Child Connections is using her nursing expertise to build a postnatal support business in the Chicago area.
    • Head/Heart Therapy works with those struggling with difficulties in their lives, including addictions.

  • Jenny Barron-Fishman has graciously invited me into her prenatal yoga, and birthing classes to introduce Moon Hill Acupuncture and talk a little about Traditional Chinese Medicine throughout the year.  These classes are very nurturing and foster a lovely sense of community that only Jenny knows how to do.  Check out her services here.

  • Late August marked the 1 year anniversary of monthly visits to see patients in Lincoln, IL!  I've been so grateful for the response in my home town, and am particularly thankful for my parents for helping out so much during these long working weekends.  I look forward to continuing these monthly treatment visits in 2018.  Next visit is this coming weekend, January 6th, 2018!

  • Near the Autumnal Equinox in September, I started a Community Acupuncture Clinic on Wednesday mornings.  This drop-in clinic has continued to grow and has become something I look forward to each week.  First one of the year is this week - Wednesday, January 3rd, 8:30-10am!

  • In October, Moon Hill Acupuncture presented an informational talk about the use of acupuncture and Chinese medicine for prenatal health and labor at Sweet Pea's yoga teacher training.  It was a wonderful hour of connecting to some beautiful souls....and nursing my son throughout the talk.

  • I've had the pleasure of experiencing the services of a few businesses this year that I think deserve a little word-of- mouth promotion.  Here are my favorite people & places from 2017:
    • Jen Cleary of Soul Centered Movement teaches mindful dance techniques to kids and adults.
    • Angelita Jacala of Art of Massage Chicago offers calming massages in a healing setting.
    • Lena Rose is the only all organic, all natural skin care boutique in Chicago!  They offer spa services and retail.
    • Chicago Family Picnic hosts play classes for infants and toddlers and educational classes for new families.

All in all, 2017 has been a wonderful year for Moon Hill Acupuncture.  My goals for 2018 are the same as always:  to provide compassionate care to my patients and use my TCM expertise to assist them in finding true physical and emotional balance.  Looking forward to helping you along your health journey!  May this new year bring you much health and happiness!  #YourHealthIsYours
